YTO Cargo Airlines launches two new international freighter routes
Ever-expanding Chinese express carrier YTO Cargo Airlines has launched new freighter routes to the Philippines and Uzbekistan as part of its ongoing international expansion.
The operator is utilising a Boeing 737F on the Ürümqi International Airport to Tashkent International Airport (Uzbekistan) sector.
YTO started the link on 15 July and it is the ninth international freighter service for YTO and first from Ürümqi.
The carrier sees the route as an opportunity to use the gateway to feed freight into Western Asia and Russia, and reportedly has plans to add two or three more links internationally later in 2019 including Pakistan.
Meanwhile, YTO will operate a Boeing 757 with 50 tonnes of payload between Manila International Airport and Hangzhou, its main base, three times a week.
The carrier started the connection on 16 July and said that seafood and e-commerce are set to make up much of the payload.
YTO operates a fleet of seven B737Fs and five B757Fs on behalf of its parent company, YTO Express and is aiming to expand this to 25 by 2020. (Source: CAASINT)
