Vietjet air and Swissport sign memorandum of understanding

Swissport International AG has been selected by Vietnamese low-cost carrier Vietjet Air to provide a wide range of airport ground services. Swissport will also support and advise Vietjet Air in developing state-of-the-art air cargo handling services as well as managing air cargo centers to the highest international standards.

A memorandum of understanding between Swissport International AG and Vietjet Air was witnessed this week at the Vietnam-Australia Business Forum in Melbourne, Australia. Attending the event were His Excellency Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of Vietnam, the Hon. Tim Ayres, Australian Assistant Minister for Trade and Manufacturing, and The Hon. Jacinta Allan, Premier of the Australian state of Victoria.

"We look forward to working with Vietjet Air to identify strategic opportunities and investments in ground handling, cargo services and terminal infrastructure," says Brad Moore, CEO for the Asia/Pacific region of Swissport International. "Our agreement is a testament to the continued growth in the region and our shared focus on exceptional customer service, innovation and quality. It is our intention to expand our partnership beyond Australia, Japan and Korea where we currently operate, and become Vietjet Air's preferred partner globally."

With a fleet of over 100 aircraft, Vietjet Air serves a network of more than 120 destinations across Vietnam and throughout Asia. Vietjet Air also develops and provides aviation services, in particular air cargo and ground services.
