ViaAir launches Amarillo-Austin South Terminal nonstop

ViaAir inaugurated new nonstop service between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport’s South Terminal and Amarillo, Texas on Sept. 19, 2018. Inaugural ceremonies held included a live music performance by Aaron McDonnell, a ribbon cutting, cake and remarks from airline officials.
“Both Austin and Amarillo are amazing cities and we’re excited about the opportunity to serve both of their business and leisure travelers alike with nonstop jet service between them as part of our 2018 expansion,” said Matthew Macri, Via Airlines’ Vice President of Operations. “Via Airlines takes pride in being the airline of the hospitality industry. Our jet service between Austin and Amarillo will move travelers far faster and more economically than existing airline options or traveling by car.”
The flight will operate five days a week, between Austin and Amarillo. The ViaAir nonstop service from AUS to AMA will depart Austin’s South Terminal at 7:45 a.m. and arrive in Amarillo at 9:15 a.m. Flights will depart Amarillo at 9:50 a.m. and arrive at Austin’s South Terminal at 11:15 a.m. All times are local.
All ViaAir service operates from The South Terminal which has a separate entrance and parking on the south side of the airport and is not accessible from inside the Barbara Jordan Terminal or from SH 71. The South Terminal is located at 10000 Logistics Lane and is accessible from US 183 South and Burleson Road.
With the new service to Amarillo, ViaAir continues its growth in Austin to eight new nonstop destinations since December. ViaAir’s options from Austin also include Baton Rouge, Louisiana (BTR), Tulsa, Oklahoma (TUL), Little Rock, Arkansas (LIT), Oklahoma City (OKC), Tucson, Arizona (TUS), seasonal service to Branson, Missouri (BKG) and winter seasonal flights to Steamboat Springs / Hayden, Colorado (HDN).
