Silk Way West re-launches its cargo flight in Budapest
The Silk Way West Azerbaijan airline returns to Budapest Airport after almost two years of pausing and restarts its scheduled cargo flights with Boeing 747-8. The first plane landed on 18 March at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport and now connects the Hungarian capital twice a week with the Bakui headquarters of the Azerbaijan cargo airline.
Silk Way West has recently picked up Vienna and Kijevet in its route network, and the resumption of the Budapest flight is another stage in its European expansion, followed by more in the course of the year - announced the Azeri carrier cargo.
"The demand for scheduled services to Eastern Europe has increased, which is, according to our opinion, due to the development of e-commerce and processing industry in the region," said Wolfgang Meier, CEO of Silk Way West Airlines. "In the spirit of the ancient silkworm, we would like to promote this growth with this service, providing regular freight transport opportunities between Eastern Europe and prosperous Middle Eastern and Asian markets," he added.
"This new flight will provide additional export opportunities for the Hungarian industry; through the international route network of Silk Way West Airlines, not only the largest Western European air carriers, but also Middle Eastern and Asian markets are also available to the airline's industry and logistics partners, "said René Droese, Budapest Airport Property Management and Cargo Division, director.
