Shipping Corp. of India plans India-Europe rate hike
Shipping Corporation of India has announced a general rate increase in its westbound trade from the Indian subcontinent to Europe, starting Sept. 1.
The planned increase will be $300 per 20-foot container and $600 per 40-foot container, applying to all shipments from the subcontinent to North Europe, the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the Red Sea region.
The state-owned carrier in a trade advisory said the rate hike is necessary to cover rising operational costs and maintain the high level of service reliability. (Source:JOC)
