By opening its new Healthcare platform in Portugal, SDV strengthens its healthcare activity. SDV Portugal is currently experiencing a growth of 40 % over the same period of 2012, which shows that there is definitely an opportunity within this sector.

The construction of a controlled temperature warehouse, as well as the compliance with all legal requirements for Integrated Control and Safety (documentation, access, cargo, surveillance, fire) at this step of the Supply Chain, will allow SDV to differentiate from the competition. This warehouse is adjacent to SDV's Lisbon main warehouse and has an area of about 400 sqm, with capacity for about 300 pallets, offering the services of reception, storage, stock control, packing and consolidation.

Associated to this new, innovative, differentiated service and competitive advantage, SDV decided to implement the GDP Guidelines on Good Distribution Practices of Medicinal Products for Human Use, according to Community guidelines 2013/C68/01 of March 7th and Council Directive 92/25/CEE of March 31th, 2013.

This will require appropriate training for employees, as well as specific requirements to choose suppliers/partners.
