SCI to extend coastal service to the east coast

The SMILE service is a dedicated Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) service having 3 x 1,600-TEU Indian flag vessels, catering to the coastal trade on the west coast of India as well as the Gulf markets.The SCI, in its continuous efforts to facilitate shipping solutions for the Indian trade, has now upgraded the coastal ports of call on the SMILE service to include Kattupalli and Visakhapatnam on the east coast, informed the company in a communiqué.

This is SCI's maiden call at Kattupalli (Chennai) and the SMILE service's maiden call at Visakhapatnam. The new port rotation will be: Mundra, Pipavav, Cochin, Tuticorin, Kattupalli, Visakhapatnam, Colombo, Mundra, Jebel Ali.
