Saudia to begin flights to Vienna
Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s national flag carrier, is announcing another new destination in time for the summer holiday period.
Starting June 16 the new route will operate four-times-weekly from Jeddah and Riyadh to the Austrian capital city, Vienna.
The total journey time between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Vienna will be under five hours and 30 minutes nonstop from Riyadh.
Saudi Arabian Airlines Vice President Corporate Communications, Eng. Abdulrahman Altayeb commented on the new route: “SAUDIA is pleased to be re-introducing Vienna to the airline’s global destination route map after a stop in services in 2010. Vienna joins a range of other new routes to launch this summer season, and is a city that is popular with travelers both for leisure and business.”
Continued Mr. Altayeb: “The route expansion reinforces the transformative changes taking shape at the airline, where both the fleet and network are growing in frequency, capacity and variety.”
“Our continued focus is on providing a hospitable guest experience, and a journey that is memorable, enjoyable and comfortable.”
Guests flying to Vienna can access entertainment options right from their own devices, with onboard streaming from the SAUDIA mobile app, and USB sockets at every seat, as well as WiFi connectivity onboard.
The flag carrier will also commence new services to Moscow, Malaga and Izmir next month (flights between Izmir and Jeddah have commenced last week, for the Umrah season).
SAUDIA’s growing route network and double-digit passenger growth has seen the airline carry more than 32 million guests last year, with further growth projected with the start of operations at Jeddah’s new King Abdulaziz International Airport, later this month.
Currently, SAUDIA flies to 90 destinations across four continents with a fleet of 147 aircraft.
