OOCL plans Europe to Asia Trade rate hike

Ocean freight rates continue to be below the required level to cover basic operating costs or transportation costs on Eastbound Europe to Asia Trade. Considering the current levels are unsustainable for the long term, OOCL is announcing a General Rate Increase (GRI) which will be applied to all cargo loading on or after October 1.
In order to maintain a high standard service level and a comprehensive liner network, the freight rates for traffic on North Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, UK/Eire to Asia will be increased by US$200 per 20ft container and US$300 per 40ft container (dry) and Mediterranean to Asia Trade will be increased by US$200 per 20ft container or per 40ft container (dry)
