Ocean Network Express (ONE) is pleased to announce that the 14,000 TEU containership ONE CYGNUS, was successfully delivered at Japan Marine United Corporation’s shipyard at Kure, Hiroshima.

This is ONE’s third delivery this year after the M/V ONE APUS on 13 June 2019 and is the last delivery in the series of 7 newly built 14,000 magenta containerships. It is equipped with outstanding safety and environmentally-friendly capabilities such as structural arrest technology and highly efficient welding technology.

ONE CYGNUS employs a hull form that optimizes cargo-loading efficiency, which is achieved by minimizing engine-room space. It also has excellent structural safety due to its Crack Arrest Technology. Additionally, the vessel is equipped with world’s first “dual rating system” technology in its main diesel engine, capable of adopting either high or low output ranges, allowing operational flexibility and improved fuel-consumption rate, resulting in significant reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.

The navigation bridge adopted the Integrated Navigation System (INS) which consolidates functions of vessel systems to efficiently reduce the workload of operators. Furthermore, for safety improvement, a wide window is also newly employed to enable widen visibility for vessel operators from the wing of vessel’s bridge when berthing and unberthing. She will be deployed on Asia to Europe 3 (FE3) service, under THE Alliance (THEA) with port rotation of Hong Kong – Xiamen – Kaohsiung – Yantian – Rotterdam – Hamburg – Antwerp – Le Havre – London Gateway – Singapore – Hong Kong
