L&T Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has received orders from Qatar-based Halul Offshore Services Co. for six specialised commercial vessels, valued at $ 154 million (Rs 943 crore), to be delivered in 2015, it is learnt.

"The orders¦ are for design, construction, trials and commissioning of four platform supply vessels (PSVs) and two anchor handling towing, supply and standby vessels (AHTSSVs) with 150 MT bollard pull," L&T Shipbuilding said in a statement.

While the PSVs would be delivered in the first quarter of 2015, the AHTSSVs would be sent to Qatar in the last quarter, the statement added.

According to the company, the ships would be equipped with dynamic positioning capability and would be suitable for fire-fighting, emergency response, rescue and standby, offshore supply, oil recovery, and related duties.
