Jinling Bags Order for Four Bulkers from Sinotrans
Chinese state-owned shipbuilding enterprise Jinling Shipyard, a subsidiary of China Chang Jiang National Shipping corporation, has received an order to build four 64,000 dwt bulkers from Sinotrans Shipping, Sea Trade Global writes.
The timing of the order, worth $103.2 million, is sparked by a relatively low price trend with respect to building new vessels.
The four bulkers are expected to be completed in the second half of 2015. The plans for construction of the said bulkers had been announced last January, when it was said that Sinotrans CSC was in talks with China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) on a deal comprising construction of 10 supramax bulkers.
The deal included four 64,000dwt bulkers with two optional ones afollowed by construction of four (2+2) 64,000dwt bulkers. (Source: Shipbuilding Tribune)
