Hapag-Lloyd: Transpacific winter service update
Hapag-Lloyd will implement the following service changes on the Transpacific for the upcoming winter months:
East Coast Services:
- The East Coast 3 (EC3) service will be seasonally suspended. Final voyage of the EC3 will be the M/V “YM Utopia” (069 E/W), ETA Kaohsiung October 31, 2019 and ETA Savannah December 2, 2019.
- The East Coast 1 (EC1) schedule will be modified to ensure continuity of the port pairings formerly provided by the EC3. The effective voyage of the revised EC1 will be M/V “Houston Bridge” (038 E/W), ETA Kaohsiung November 4, 2019 and ETA Savannah December 8, 2019.
Original EC3 Service Rotation:
Kaohsiung – Xiamen – Hong Kong – Yantian – Shanghai (YAN) – Manzanillo - Savannah – Jacksonville – Norfolk – Manzanillo – Balboa – Busan – Kaohsiung
Original EC1 Service Rotation:
Ningbo – Shanghai (YAN) – Pusan – Tokyo – Manzanillo – Savannah – Jacksonville – Charleston – Norfolk – Manzanillo- Balboa – Tokyo – Kobe – Ningbo
Modified EC1 Service Rotation:
Kaohsiung - Xiamen – Hong Kong – Yantian – Shanghai (YAN) – Busan – Tokyo – Manzanillo – Savannah – Jacksonville – Charleston – Norfolk – Manzanillo- Balboa – Tokyo – Kobe – Pusan- Kaohsiung
The modified service rotation of the new EC1 as well as the service withdrawal of the EC3 is expected to last till March 2020.
Meanwhile, please be insured that Hapag-Lloyd's other Transpacific services to / from the East Coast of North America (EC2, EC4, EC5, and TPI) will remain unchanged.
West Coast Services (PSW)
- The Pacific South Loop 5 (PS5) will be gradually downsized from 8,000 TEU class vessels to a mixed fleet of 6,200 – 6,800 TEU vessels. First voyage running with the reduced capacity will be M/V “MOL Majesty”, ETA Shanghai November 10, 2019 and ETA Los Angeles November 26, 2019.
- The Pacific South Loop 7 (PS7) will be gradually downsized from 10,000 TEU class vessels to a mixed fleet of 8,600 TEU – 9,500 TEU vessels with an occasional deployment of 10,000 TEU vessels where required. First voyage running with the reduced capacity will be M/V “YM UNICORN”, ETA Xiamen November 16, 2019 and Los Angeles December 4, 2019.
The upcoming service changes on the PSW are also expected to last till March 2020.
On the West Coast Services (PNW) please be note that the Winter Program is still under discussion and will be announced at a later stage.
