EPIC Service commences calls at Malta Freeport
Malta Freeport Terminals celebrated the arrival of the CMACGM Pegasus, the first vessel to call in Malta on the Europe Pakistan Indian Consortium (EPIC) service operated by CMA CGM, Cosco and OOCL.
A total of 874 container moves were handled on the 11,356 TEUcontainer ship, which provides direct fixed-day weekly calls to the North European ports of Southampton, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Le Havre and Bremerhaven, which is an alternative option to Hamburg. Eighteen mainline services and various feeder services are calling at the Freeport operated by renowned shipping lines including the Ocean Alliance – CMA CGM, Cosco, OOCL and Evergreen, as well as MSC, Hapag-Lloyd, Marfret, and ONE. These services are offering local and international clients connections with 120 ports worldwide, over 50 of which are in the Mediterranean.
The EPIC Service’s port rotation, which is calling both eastbound and westbound, is as follows: Southampton – Rotterdam – Bremenhaven – Antwerp – Le Havre – Algeciras – Jeddah – Jebel Ali – Abu Dhabi – Karachi – Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Malta Freeport – Tanger Med – Southampton.
