BBN Airlines Indonesia, an ACMI specialist, provider of charter flights, air freight services, and subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, has added a 737-400 freighter to further expand its growth in cargo operations within the Asia-Pacific market. The aircraft joins two other 737-800BCFs and three passenger 737-800s in the airline's fleet.

“This move aligns with BBN Airlines Indonesia's expansion strategy in the air logistics sector, responding to the increasing demand from various industries,” said Martynas Grigas, Chairman of BBN Airlines Indonesia. “With the new aircraft, BBN Airlines Indonesia is now better equipped to offer fast, reliable, and wide-ranging cargo delivery services.”

737-400SF (MSN 26302) was previously a passenger aircraft before its conversion by Aeronautical Engineers Inc. in Miami (MIA) in 2017. The freighter aircraft has a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 65,090 kg and can carry 11 pallets. It features space for 10 ULD 88”x125”x82” containers with an additional 1 53”x88”x64” container for a total cargo volume capacity of 129 m³.

“BBN Airlines Indonesia has plans to expand its fleet and strengthen its position to support the growing regional market,” Grigas said. “This addition of a Boeing 737-400 freighter will enable us to support domestic and international logistics needs.”

According to WorldACD, a global cargo and logistics market data firm, cargo rates in the Asia-Pacific region have traditionally been higher than in the rest of the world. The most recent reporting indicated a 2% increase in rates for this marketplace.

“The 737-400SF is a trusted platform for operators in the region; this means we will have synergy in our operations by adding this dependable and well-respected type,” Grigas added. “With the new aircraft, BBN Airlines Indonesia is now better equipped to offer fast, reliable, and wide-ranging cargo delivery services as we respond to increasing demand from various industries in Indonesia.”
