4,250-TEU APL Denver collides with 2,495-TEU Wan Hai 301 near Johor
The 4,250-TEU APL Denver has collided with the 2,495-TEU Wan Hai 301 near Pasir Gudang Port in Johor, Malaysia, causing fuel to spill from bunker tanks, according to Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore.
Malaysia's Johor Port Authority (JPA) has deployed four anti-pollution vessels and an oil boom around the APL Denver to contain the spill. Both the MPA and JPA have initiated investigations into the cause of the accident.
BlueWater Reporting said the APL Denver serves on the joint CNC, TS Lines, Cosco and KMTC intra-Asia loop KCM2, on which CMA CGM, ANL and Heung-A also purchase slots.
The Wan Hai 301 serves on the carrier's KSS service between Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea, on which Evergreen Line takes slots.
